The Irish Garden Plant Society was formed in 1981, in response to a wish expressed by gardeners throughout the island of Ireland for the conservation of garden plants and gardens. A range of fixtures are organised by groups in Dublin, Belfast and Cork.
For 40 years the society (900 members) had a garden at Tatton Park which has been taken over by the National Trust. We are now developing a new garden at the nearby 40 acre Quinta Arboretum.
