The oldest botanic garden in Russia - founded in 1706 by Peter the Great as Apothecaries' Garden for raising medicinal plants. Since 1805 belongs to the Moscow University. The 6.5 ha territory contains living collections in the open grounds and glass houses.
Cultivate has created an urban permaculture garden, demonstrating economic plants, and providing a resource for teacher training and visitors' delight. Access to this unique rooftop garden is at street level. Cultivate also offers classes, a bookstore, and plants for sale.

The visitor-garden open in spring, is enriched with 500 species of bulbs, perennials and evergreens which are harmoniously situated. Little streams tumble over rocks and through crevices into the pond. Yearly many visitors come from all over the world.
