Hi,

My lilac is not flowering for the last 4 years. The plant seems to be growing well and looks strong, but does not like to flower. I live in Spain. Any ideas? Thank you

Francisco

Hi Francisco,
don't know where you live in Spain ( in which hardiness zone ). But I think lilacs need a period of frost during winter. The end of this period is the signal for the northern plants to start a new growing period. Lilacs react well to a warm and arid period during summer and flower more for next spring. And - at last - wild lilacs often need a couple of years until first blooming
Good luck

RE: lilac

Do not post porn links or drug links on this, or any, GARDENING forum! That crap belongs in the trash can and you people that look at it have a serious problem. Many of us have already e-mailed the webmaster and this sick thing you are doing will soon be at an end. Why can't you do this someplace else? What made Gardenweb Espana a place for you to exchange this trash?
