RE: WANTED: bamboos

| Hi seedman2, I have, what I've been told is Pleioblastus variegatus, which is a dwarf verigated bamboo that grows to 4.5-5 feet high. It's very hardy, evergreen and has dense foliage. This one definitely likes to spread, so if you have a small area it is better to keep it in a pot or confine it's roots to restrict it's rampant urges. :o) I also have Fargesia murieliae, the common name is the Umbrella Bamboo. It has beautiful arching green foliage and can get quite tall (up to 4 Metres). I've been told recently that this one should have it's roots contained, however, it's never caused problems in my garden. If either of these bamboos are of interest, please let me know as I'm happy to trade. I'm new here, so I don't know what the plants are worth in terms of trading, but I'm open to any suggestions...I'm a plantaholic, so there aren't many plants that I don't like. I hope this is of help to you. Happy Gardening! Shelley PS I've got a new bamboo that I'm unsure about, it was given to me by a friend who doesn't know it's name, it has white stems/branches...it's quite tall already, and once it starts to grow a bit, I'm happy to divide it to send you if that's something you might like in the future. |
