Posted by redadmiral (My Page) on Sun, Jul 29, 07 at 15:46
hello,
i have recently become interested in trying to grow an olive tree, and was wondering if anybody owns one and would be willing to send me a pit (or two) to experiment with?
in return i would send seeds i have, or will be collecting later this summer, including:
a large yellow tree peony,
small simple yellow poppies,
love in the mist,
snapdragons,
evening primrose,
morning glories,
angels rods,
Eccremocarpus scaber Tresco Crimson,
lemon sorrel,
orange californian poppy,
granny's bonnets,
verbascum (white),
and i'm sure many others i can't remember off the top of my head! anyway, get in touch if you're interested, and we'll work something out.
thanks a lot. |

thank you very much for the offer! its extremely kind of you to offer me a whole tree (albeit small). however, i think the postage for that would probably be difficult and also too expensive for me to be able to afford! also i would feel very rude making you dig up something you'd already planted in your garden! perhaps you could send me a small cutting, which i can try rooting and growing here? don't worry if not - thanks again for the offer. |

Schipping will cost about 6 euro, have send more plants to the U.K. I will try to root a cutting,if you prefer. |

hi ferurs, if you could take a cutting for me that would be really great. i will send you some seeds in return, if you would like, and will reimburse you for postage (not sure quite how to do that, as we don't use euros in the UK - would a bank transfer work?) thanks again for all your help. |

hello biddy, sorry i didn't reply for ages, i've been away on holiday. i would love some olive seeds and some red poppy seeds! it's funny, where i have been on holiday i have seen some amazing hollyhocks, and i would dearly love to grow them, but unfortunately, they really don't like my soil. i also managed to collect some seeds of everlasting sweetpea growing wild next to a train station so i'm really pleased about that! anyway, i'm just about to update my seed trade list, so take a look and let me know if you'd like anything on there, and hopefully we can trade! :) |

| Hi redadmiral, have you been sorted for your olive pip? I have some small plants which have self seeded and can be posted for the price of a stamp. If you would like one I can send you and I would love some peony tree seeds please. |

hi amy! i have actually got some olive pips, and planted them yesterday, but though i'm hopeful i've heard they are somewhat unreliable to get to germinate! so in other words: yes, i'd love a seedling! that would be fantastic. i can send you some tree peony seeds. they are starting to ripen now, but are not quite ready yet. i'll send you a pod or two when they are. send me an email (my address should be on this site) and we'll sort it out. thanks for the lovely offer. :) |
