WANTED: Bramley Apple Cuttings

Posted by SaxonManFinland Finland (My Page) on

I am looking for 10 to 12 Bramley Apple Scions or twigs for grafting. About 300mm long (12") and a quarter to half inch diameter (6mm to 12mm). Naturally will pay postage and be happy to send something "Finnish" in return, either seeds or cuttings.

Just impossible to Find this variety here and want to graft onto one of my seven Finnish "Tasteless" Apple Trees.Millions of apples but soft and pretty useless. Cant even make a decent pie or cider from them, although Apple Jam OK I guess.

Thanks and Happy Autumn digging.lol

Stuart

RE: WANTED: Bramley Apple Cuttings

Hi Jean-Pierre

That was my "French Name" at School, because the French Teacher didn't think "Stuart" sounded very French at all!!!

Yes I have some of what you would like.

Asters no Problem

A beautiful Helenium variety I have only seen in this country. Need to find out its proper name.

Rodgersias a bit more problematical. I have something VERY Similiar but it is Autumn Flowering with Large leaves. Especially suited to damp. I will get the name.

My biggest problem is everything I know (not much!!) is English name based and very little pure Latin. My wife is Russian and they use more Latin. We live in Frozen Finland and although here they do use some Latin, mainly they have their own mixed names made up from Latin and Finnish!! BUT the lady who originally planted up this Flower Garden has become a friend and she knows everything!!! Unfortunately she speaks no English, but will ask here to give me names when she comes round again.......Normally weekly to make sure I have not killed her life times work.

My address is
Stuart & Larissa
Onnelankuja 9
55100 Imatra
Finland

If you could send me some apple cuttings of Bramley and or Coxes O.P in November or when ever I would be obliged.

I will send you full names of what special plant seeds I have when I decipher the names or maybe could send you pictures and details then you decide what you would like

Regards

Stuart
