| i saw a show on television, where they said in france that a mixture made with stinging nettles was used to fortify rose bushes. the basic idea was to take 1 part nettle to 10 parts water and let it soak until it foamed, then strain it and bottle it. mine never foamed, and has gone bad, it smells terrible..i'd like to know if anyone can advise me..the show i watched said this mixture is common in france?? i've searched the internet and found nothing to help me. thank you in advance..donna |

| Hello there, In English, "ortie" is called "Stinging nettle", when you touch a part of this plant you start hitching. |

thank you both so much. i used spring water..no chemicals or anything. i am wondering about the tempurature..if it is too hot outside would that cause it to not foam?? can i still use it if it didn't foam, or should i start all over?? also..how does it work for you? the show i saw seemed to like it very much, she called it a "bio-stimulator", saying that it boosted the plants own immune system to fight disease. thanks so much, donna |

| Hi Donna, I found explanation on how to prepare and use the manure (I've translated it for you). I hope this will answer you question. Fabrication et ingredients To make the stinging nettle manure, you need to macerate 1,5 kg of chopped leaves with 10 liter of rain water (choose young leaves without grains). After 15 days, filter the mixture. According to the use: • Dilute 2 liters mixture to 10 liters rain water (pulverize against diseases: mushrooms, algae, lichens such as mildew). You can also use it to activate the growth thanks to minerals salts present in this mixture. • Dilute 1 liter mixture to 10 liters rain water (against aphid, pulverize on the leaves). • Without diluting it, use as a good compost activator. Very strong odor during the maceration, this is normal. You can preserve your manure in a hermetic container, away from light and at temperature of approximately 18-20 °, for a couple weeks. Be careful, as every treatment product, even tough natural, an overdose can be noxious. Bonne journée, Sylviane |

hi Donna IT's works well, you can use it also direct on the soil, it's really good for the life of it. I use it like répulsive when it is "fresh"(some days old),like foliar nutriment and enforcement when older. It's good also on the "compost"(? english word?). Don't fabric it in metalic container... @ |
