Literature on Planting techniques and plants

Message envoyé par linaria (My Page) le

Salut
I hope you dont mind me writing in English but I couldnt communicate en Francais.

My question:
I search for books on horticulture:
planting and pruning of shrubs and trees

Perennials in general, design and mainatanace
ornamental grasses

books about plant groups like Annuals/Dahlias
climbers/Clematis
Roses (groups, planting, pruning..)
flower bulbs (Tulipa, Narcissus etc)
turf/gazon planting and maintanance.

I'd like to have those book titles for a chapter about Plants and planting techniques I'm writing. It is to be published in a professional book about landscape architecture and landscape contracting. So far I got a proper collection of German and English titles.
What Im looking for is books on an advanced level. The information I require are:

surename, first name/initale of author
book title
publishing year
publisher and town

another topic is official quality standards (DIN/ norme) for nursery stock, perennials, landscape contracting work. I searched at some EU-sites but couldnt find a thing.

I really apppreciate if you would drop me a line with a book title or two :-)

well, a bien tot,

cheers, thanks a lot,
Linaria

Hello Linaria!
That is a quite complex question! Lol...
My best suggestion, rather than listing books which will necessarily be a very personal choice, would be that you contact l"Ecole d'Horticulture de Luillier", which is in you new country.
They should help you much more efficiently than we would, all the more as their courses are intended for (future)professional gardeners.
You might even ask for Mrs Nicole Badin, she is one of the teachers there : she is the kindest and most knowledgeable person you might find!
You can tell her I gave you her name...and give her my best regards at the same time!
Good luck for your book/article!
