I am shortly to be the proud owner of 70 olive trees in Lazio and would like to avoid the use of chemical sprays - is this possible? What are the principal pests and diseases and how can they be avoided in an environmentally friendly manner?

If I am able to avoid the chemicals then I would like to produce my own oil - is small scale equipment available and what will I need?

I am happy to seek my own information if anyone can point me in the right direction.
