Is my snake plant dying? Can I do something about it?

Hey, I bought a snake plant 3 weeks ago and it looks like it's dying day by day.
It's in a bright room but doesn't get direct sunlight and I haven't watered it since I bought it as the soil looks extremely moist - almost wet.
I considered re-potting it into a drier soil but I'm too new to try any tricks w/o consultation first!
Any tips?
