easy-grow annuals for near Seville

My son has moved near Seville and has found an interest in gardening. Can you good friends recommend annuals that will withstand the heat and possible limited watering but give a colourful summer display there?
Zinnias and some of the South African annuals spring to mind but wwhat about some others?
All help gratefully received!

Petunias, marigolds, busy-lizzie, gazania, mesembryanthemum, phlox, larkspur, sunflower, osteospermum, anrirrhinum, portulaca, mirabilis (once you've got it you can't get rid of it) and the standby nasturtiums. They get caterpillers but I have found a local spray that once done seems to do the trick for the rest of the year. Take into account everything needs to be planted at least a couple of months earlier than in the UK (I start seeds in November) as most annuals are going beyond their best by July. Have tried most things, if further info. wanted tell him to e-mail me. Happy growing!

How about californian poppy, it self seeds readily in West Wustralian summer?

You should try also Verbena (purple) , alyssum (white/purple) , trapaealum (orange) all quite resistant to real sun (Marruecos) and relatively dwarf . try also antirrhinum majus for higher subjects ( I have seeds to exchange)
I am looking for impatiens balsamina L (double flowers) seeds or hortensia seeds. Very rare in our country .
Many thanks and good growing ( don't wait too long)
Samia
