| I live in Tenerife, being one of the Spanish Canary Islands off the West Coast of Africa. Here we have mild rainy winters and dry warm to hot summers, thus a climate somewhat similar to many Mediterranean areas.
From a recent trip to South Africa I brought back seven different Protea plants. Three I planted into large clay pots, four right into my garden. All seven received a 50:50 mix of sand and soil. All are standing in sunny to semi-sunny areas. Thus we gave them a good startup.
But I know that these are most delicate plants, dying easily. Therefore I would appreciate any good advice on how to treat my proteas. Thank you. |
