| I have been gardening for a year and a half now, struggling my way through, and I have to admitt that there are lots of things I do not know yet. I inherited 6 olive trees with my new house and everything seemed to be fine last year. This spring however, I noticed dark round spots on the leaves which are falling off like crazy. Does anybody know how to deal with this? Mind that I am trying to keep an organic garden. |

| Seems to me that your trees have Cycloconium oleaginum, Moniliales. You have to spread them with Cupravid or something like that, 5-6 times. First time just before the rains , second time one month later, third after prunning and another one or two in spring. Good luck, it is a dangerous fongus when left. if you can ask for somebody local expert to help you do it, if you don't have anyone mail me, to give you more detailed instuctions. |

good pruning with the help of Copper can get rid of this problem. This fungus attacks alwayas trees that are not pruned and therefore not well ventilated inside the foliage. Try to remove all the central branches. Don't hesitate to do so.Olive trees should be overpruned. |
