Dried up, crispy leaves

Hello from fire stricken Greece, I have the following plant that I found in its pot with all its branches clipped and abandoned on the street. I took it home, watered it and it started up again nicely, many fresh shoots and leaves. Problem is, during the last week after I returned from vacations, it started dying, with its leaves drying up and becoming paper-like. Could it be over/under watered? Some sickness? No insects or marks are seen, it seems like it's dying on its own, not by a sickness/insect/fungus...

it seems to me your plant has undergone some kind of water stress, probably water deprivation.Try to get it overcome this situation by gradually increasing its water supply. No sudden changes.
Also some pruning will encourage the growth of new and robust shoots.
