Help me identify Spanish 'campo' plant

Hello,
Can anyone please tell me, what is this plant growing all over the hills in southern Spain?
It doesn't grow over a metre tall. It has thin leaves all the way up it's woody stem. It makes delicate white flowers. It is all covered in a sticky substance that gets on your clothes, dogs, cats etc. It seems to make a large seed.
It is all over my neighbour's land adjoining mine. There seems to be lots of it growing on any marginal land along the Costa del Sol.
Thanks for any help,
William

I think it is Cistus, rock roses. There are several species.

Here is a link that might be useful: Pic's of Cistus
