I have a compost container. I remember reading some time ago that there is a component you can add to the compost to accelerate decomposition. Anyone know what it is?

you can buy compost accelerators even in place like carrefor. i am not sure why you need to use this. keep your compost box moist and add different layers of leaves grass uncooked veg waste etc. as long as the bits are small it should compost in time.

Hi an additive of lime in small quantities is good for acceleration ....in my opinion the heap or container should be kept damp especially if the weather is dry....and give the beetles and bugs a good chance to help !!
