Hi everybody

We have just got back from Rhodes and the house is still not finished.
The house is on a hill side and two stories at the front and three stories at the back so there is an access road running down to the bottom of the rear garden meaning there is a fairly steep bank tapering down to floor level. Since our last visit the builders have made a terrace on it and added top soil but during a storm while we were out there, this soil was washed down leaving a sea of mud so goodness knows what it will be like over the winter.
My question is how best to deal with it. I feel it would be better to have a single slope and build a retaining wall about 90cm high. Would this stop the soil washing down and if not, where would I put the drainage?

Thanks a lot

Barlews

How about terraces with retaining walls?
