does anyone know if you can 'store' these as young plants in a pot - but in shady conditions? The position they're planned for in the ground is sunny in summer but not much of the day in winter. Will altitude make a difference?

RE: callistemon

I planted 25 Callistemon vinimalis 'Kings Park' 18 months ago in very large containers integral with my driveway. They in 'in pots' so to speak and they have been magnificent. They have an enormous amount of flowers waiting to burst forth at the moment. You do need to keep them watered in a pot but not overwatered. Callistemon as with all Australian plants are fickle and the success of them will depend on your knowledge of your soil conditions and of that particular plant. Read up on the variety you have...there are 100s of Callistemons!
