Hi all
I note that a lot of gardens in western algarve use a conifer for hedging
Does anyone know the name and is it reliable long term?
Regards

Hi Treesa Is it one of the many junipers? Very easy-going and tolerant of heat and used commonly here in Greece for hedging. It does look rather like a conifer. Good luck. |

| I think the shrub/tree is a form of the melaleuca |

| treeza: Melaleuca is certainly not a "conifer" although I suppose some species have such small leaves that they may be mistaken for the needles of a conifer. Melaleucas also have distinctive flower clusters -- like small powderpuffs or bottlebrushes. True conifers, of course, have no showy flowers. Joe |
