| Hello, Garlic and lavander certainly, I use them. About Mint I do no know. Onions too would be of somewhat use against black spot but I did not try, having no problem with BS. Best wishes, Pete. |

| I think, the best is to spray with garlic extracts. I have tried last year and it works well against BS etc. Lavender as a pest combat is a bit a myth, and it normally grows not so well on rose beds, because there is to much fertilizer and water for them. |

| Garlic chives (Allium tuberosum) have more repellant qualities than either garlic or chives. As yet unpublished research has shown that, planted in close proximity to the roses, they will significantly diminish populations of green fly (aphids) and will eliminate spider mites. |
