Just returned from a lovely UK vacation - hoping to return again to do a garden tour, which highlights roses. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Susan

Mottisfont Abbey (near Romsey) is lovely. Arena Roses published in their catalogue a couple of years ago a guide to English rose gardens. Call the company (they are located in Paso Robles) and ask if they have any old catalogues to send you or maybe they could just photocopy the relevant pages.

I'm new to the forums too.Perhaps this is not too late for your next holiday. Go to The Abbey Gardens in Malmesbury in the west of England, on the edge of the Cotswolds. You will get the chance to visit a delightful small market town; the Abbey is a grand ruin, with some wonderful architectural features still preserved, and stands at the top of the hill. Right beside it and going down the back of the hillside, the new owners of the Manor, I forget their name but you may see them as they are passionate about their garden, have planted a huge number of roses as well as perennials, clematis, herbs etc. Most of the roses have name labels on them, which I like.
