I suspect they might do better for you than they did here. We had Florence Delattre for about 4 years, and she produced one bloom. The bloom was breathtaking -- but, REALLY. One bloom in 4 years does not cut it. We grew Claudia Cardinale, who bloomed a LITTLE more, but the constant rust on the foliage was brighter than the coppery-yellow blooms. Sonia Rykiel flopped along the ground and produced more prickles than blooms. The blooms, again, were to die for, but unless staked up, they lay on the ground. Paul Bocuse, by contrast, is a vigorous grower and a generous bloomer, with excellent resistance to mildew and rust. He's not my favorite color, to be honest, but he's so good in every way, I have not the heart to remove him. Jeri

I have Florence de Lattre, still. I thought it was dead, but it sent up one shoot last fall. Mine has bloomed quite profusely at times, but the color is lavender only in cool weather. In the heat it takes on more of a tan color that to me does not look good at all. It looks like something is wrong with it. The plant is a blackspot magnet and won't keep leaves. It throws long canes and wants to be an octopus. There are other lavender roses that are better than this one. I plan to get rid of it.

I do not spray or winter protect. Chantal Merieux is small but survives the winter. Francis Blaise died but other roses have also died in this location. The blooms are beautiful. Paul Bocuse is almost dead after a few years. Not Recommended. Sonia Rykiel has survived and the blooms are nice. Madame Paule Massad is also very good. Jardins de Viels Maisons is OK. Dan Poncet is very small. Martine Guillot is huge. Florence Delattre died, but it was also in a location where other roses have died. None of the Generosa roses show any particular problem with blackspot here. My impression is that Generosa roses are not as hardy as Austins. They are not like Austins.
