Another anti-bug measure is to encourage small birds by putting up nesting boxes, bird baths, and bird tables in winter.

In Holland lots of organic (and inorganic too) stuff for plants can be bought at the so called 'growth shops'. They primarily cater to cannabis growers, but they do have a lot of things that we cannot buy in the garden centre. Although growing cannabis is illegal, the shops are not. Most of them have websites, but they are often in dutch. Maybe Italy has its own share of these 'growth shops'?

I don't know if you can get this, maybe not, but perhaps something similar - and you probably saw it when you lived on "this side" - Murphy's Oil Soap. I use this to make my "cornell" formula. One of the ladies from the local Woman's Club told me about it, and sometimes I even add listerine for rust. Maybe you could find a similar oil-based soap/cleaner?
