Red Roses - Recommended

| I'm planning to introduce some new red rose varieties into my small southern garden. I have been very pleased with the plants that I have obtained in the past from Apuldram Roses and would therefore like to obtain some suitable plants from them. My partner loves red roses so I am looking for some recommended varieties, ideally heavily scented. |

| My experience with Apuldram from last year has not been good at all (very weak plants), so I can't really recommend getting any of their stock. In terms of which varieties to choose, do you like HT's or more old fashioned shaped roses (but equally newly bred) like Meilland's Romanticas (hard to get in the UK though) or David Austin's fabulous and heavily perfumed creations? Are disease resistance, repeat/floriferousness, growth pattern and perfume important to you? Andrea (formerly in the US, now in Cambridge, UK) |
