Looking for Hansestadt Bremen

| This rose is pictured in Sterling Macoboy's book, The Ultimate Rose Book, on page 210. It was introduced by Kordes around 1960. The picture shows a rose much like an old Gallica such as Ipsilante but of course is a repeater. And many buds about to open along with the four flowers open. A cross between Eva x Fanal.
It strikes me it might be an improvement on Austin roses that don't grow well in my climate. But where in the world to get it? Anyone have it who could send me a cutting???? |

Hello, Here is a response from a german forum : We don't know any nursery which offers HB today. But HB is grown at the Rosarium Dortmund and in Sangerhausen. The best way to get this Kordes rose (1958) is to ask Mr. Hartung http://www.rosarot-pflanzenversand.de/storefront/runtime/?main_frame=/storefront/semistatic/kontakt.html He will propagate that rose - 10 € (minimum 3 plants). | Thanks so much AmiRoses. I will contact Mr. Hartung. It sounds like a place to get just about every Kordes rose I've ever heard of! jim conners |
