Hello,

I am planning on moving to the subburbs of Stockholm sometime near future. Is there are map of climate zone of Sweden that I can use comparably to the one in the States?

Thanks for your help.

RE: Moving to Sweden

The sockholmarea has a quite mild climate due to all that water (usuallay swedish zone 2-3). There are maps showing american zones i Europe the stockholmarea are usually am. zone 6-7, but we don´t have the same type of summers and not the same type of winters so plants that work in am. zone 6-7 doesn´t allways work here in the Stockholm area.
The maps that shows american zones in sweden are usually quite bad the climate varies a lot in sweden. In the southern parts it can be swedish zone 1 at the coast and swedish zone 5 in the middle parts.
(Swedish zones are opposite to american zones. Zone 1 is very mild climate and zon 7-8 are really cold areas in the northern parts of sweden)

Hello you have a map off our zones here in sweden at this adress (down below - Riksförbundet Svensk Trädgårds zonkarta ©), but all the text at this website is typed only in swedish language. You are welcome to visit my website off an exotic scent flower "Plumeria" at internetadress http://www.plumeria.tk and you could read the website in both swedish and english.

stockholm is listed to zone 6b-7b. It's true that we dont get "hot" summers but the climate is very stabile. It wont' be -5F for one day and 65F the next. That's a plus

RE: Moving to Sweden

Tina, I used to live in Denmark. Denmark and most of sweden would be considered more like most of the north east coastal zones (e.g. CT/NY/NJ). As you will know, the coastal climates in these states is dramatically different from the island.
