climbing fuschia

Hi, i bought two climbing fuschia last summer, since found out it is probably Lady Boothby. I planted them in to the containers of a climbing trellis and they have exceeded all expectations. they grew to over 6ft tall with loads of flowers. My problem / query is that over winter they have lost all leaves and flowers and i am left with bare branches. My question is. Do i prune back? Or will the flowers come again on the existing branches? many thanks for any advice.

I think you can do either, prune or not prune, and they will still flower. I think the old wood will produce new flowering wood by midsummer. I don't know for sure, but they are very accommodating plants. If you don't cut back they might be unfeasibly large by next Autumn, though.
