 o
The 'Thames whale', query with apology

I know this has nothing to do with gardening, I apologize.

In the US we have see scores of reports in print and on TV about the "Thames whale". None of these reports tell us how far the whale has traveled from the open ocean.

Do you have any idea how many kilometers it has traveled up the river?

If you mean the north sea, then about 55 kilometers or 35 miles to Southend, where the estuary opens out and as the crow flies, but 2 or 3 times that as a whale swims because of the winding river. But 400-500+ miles to the Atlantic Ocean.

Thanks brian, good answer. Curiously the media was not giving us any numbers.

I thought everyone knew where London was? Small place about midway between Toronto, Buffalo, and Detroit :)
