Pruning

I have a Physocarpus 'Diablo' should I prune it and by how much? It's about 7' tall at the moment. The other plant I would like some advice on pruning is Lycesteria crocthyros do I prune this or just leave it? It's three years old from seed, and is yet to flower, but it's a very healthy arching plant about 6' across and 3' tall. Thanks

RE: Pruning

You don't have to prune your Physocarpus if you don't want. Do you want it smaller? Do you want it more tidy? The standard time to prune is right after flowering but you could prune now if you don't mind losing some flowers this year.
