Wildflower borders to fields in France

Posted by chaffcombe_girl (My Page) on

When travelling in France I have noticed many field-borders and verges, and sometimes entire meadows, are full of long-stemmed wildflowers, mostly pink and blue ones. I have seen them being grown as an area in a large lawned garden too. I would really like to have some in part of my garden but can't think how to obtain them or to find out exactly what they are. They must be available commercially to French farmers as they are always the same mix! Anyone know what they are and how to obtain them?

Could it have been Phacelia? I've seen that grown as a green manure in France.
