 o
Compost

Can anyone tell me why some books recommend 'sterilized' compost. How can it be sterilized? Or does this just mean disease and pest free?
Thank you

Apparently you can bake it in the oven to sterilise it.

Don't bake it. From what I've heard the stink is terrible.

The best way i find is to steam sterilise using a wallpaper stripper and a couple of metal biscuit tins.
The top tin has lots of holes punched in the bottom and a few in the lid. The bottom tin has a large hole punched in the side for the steamer hose.
Don`t touch the tins while its running..they get pretty hot :)
