Without a doubt, mine has been a primrose Primula vulgaris variety, which started flowering in late November and although just starting to go over still has around 100 small creamy-yellow flowers on what was a single plant. It's in a damp, moderately sheltered spot protected by house walls on the north and west sides. It's a gem!

Ooh.. probably a twisted hazel tree we have in the front garden. It's a lovely little thing and currently covered with yellow catkins. Melanie

A scented honeysuckle in the front garden, probably, L fragrantissima or L purpussii. Cutting, anyone?

Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire': day-glow coral, orange and yellow stems, in places mottled with red. It's brighter than the similar C. sanguinea 'Winter Flame' or 'Winter Beauty'. A plant that might be next winter's star is one I bought at the RHS London flower show earlier this month - Salix erythroflexuosa - a selection with bright orange, twisted stems.

Melanie I've got twisted hazel (Corylus avellena Contorta) in a pot which is controlling its urge to spread too far. Reminds me I'll have to repot this Spring to give it a bit more freedom, it must be terribly pot-bound by now!
