I will be in London for two months looking after elderly mother. July and August the peak growing season at home (sob). Any veg I could grow in pots with potting soil in that short time? (not radish do not like it) I do not know if tomato plants will be on sale that late.

Mesclun and micro-greens for salads. Try for cherry tomatoes. Often garden centres will have them already potted up in a hanging basket affair so it's simply a matter of paying horrendous amounts and bringin home the spoils. Baby carrots, maybe. Asparagus peas. Apple cucumber - if you can find plants.

Don't know from here, but is there some way of contacting a local allotment to see if any members have seedlings availbale?
