| Acacia senegal (Gum arabic tree) is mainly of commercial interest for its value in the confectionary, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. It does not make a good ornamental pot plant and is very frost sensitive, which prevents it being used as a garden shrub or tree. Generally the African Acacias are significantly less important than their Australian relatives from an ornamental point of view and are almost never offered in the nursery trade. Your only hope is to try and locate seed from its native Africa, or Pakistan and India where it is also grown. Sorry that I can't be more helpful. |
