Ground Elder and Bluebells

There are some bluebells that I want to dig up in our estate's compost heap but it looks like they are mixed in with some ground elder, which I don't want to introduce into my garden. Should I chance it and dig them up or leave it? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Wait until the bluebells are dormant (July-October), then dig, and clean the bulbs to remove all soil and other roots.

Thanks so much, I will try that. Only problem is, how will I find them if they are dormant?

Mark the area where they are with sticks, so you know the area to dig. Bluebell bulbs are whitish, so easy to find in the spadefuls of soil.
