Bougainvillia

I have just impulse-bought a bougainvillia. Actually, I've wanted one for ages! I have a west facing, very sunny conservatory and want to grow it in a pot. Any tips on how to best look after these, what size pot, compost, feeding etc would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

John Innes 2 mix. Rich and open. Keep dryish in winter. Plentiful water in summer. Watch for mealie bugs (and deal with them...). Easy on the nitrogen. Root restriction encourages flowering. Need fairly severe cutting back after flowering if they have achieved 'rampant growth'. Don't over-pot to start with. They will flower in smaller pots.

Have been known to survive amazing neglect, and still flower, but that's another story.

Thanks for that, Vetivert8, very helpful. Should I feed with, say, a tomato fertilizer or similar to encourage flowering?
