Cionura Oreophila Vine

Posted by Joanmary_z10 z10 Ft. L. Fl. (My Page) on

I would like to find the fragrant Cionura Oreophila Vine.

I have done extensive searches on the net for a nursery who would be willing to ship this vine or its seeds to me in the USA. However, I have had no luck in finding one.

Please, does anyone know of a source for this vine or its seeds who would be willing to ship to the USA? Plantsman Nursery does not.

Thank you,

Joanmary

Pan-Global plants, Frampton upon Severn stock it, but despite the name, do not do mail order. I've a feeling I found a nursery in Scotland which had it last year. The plant also has another name, which I'm blowed if I can remember, but could be useful in searches!

I'm not familiar with this vine. However, I do have Sweet Autum Clematis which is a perennial vine that makes a wonderful show in late August or early September (depending on your climate) and into early autum. It has some fragrance, especially in the warm evenings, thus the name "Sweet". In bloom, it is completely covered with tiny, bell-like white flowers; then forms attractive seedheads. It can be completely cut to the ground in winter, and if kept watered well the first year, will come back larger and larger each year. It does need a place to grow large...NOT next to a patio or deck unless it's up a tall tree. (in several years, it will get really very big!). I have lots of them growing in my yard and they're my favorite, partly because they are so carefree. I'm in Fayetteville, NC. If you are in driving distance, I'll gladly give you, completely free, if you'd like one. I probably could UPS one if you'd like to pay the shipping charges. I once received a live potted peace lily via UPS and it arrived very nicely. I've never shipped a plant, but I'll try most anything legal! The lily was from a local business but I don't know from where it was shipped. I'm just an avid gardener who likes to grow share plants. I do not have a green house...just my garage, a big sink and lots of shelves. My email is slharner@aol.com. Hope to hear from you. Sara Harner

Please forgive my tardiness in replying.
Garden_Nerd, should you come across some Cionura O. vine seeds, please do contact me. I'm be delighted to exchange them for seeds from my own garden. I plant primarily for fragrance. I have a variety of wonderfully fragrant Brunfelsias, Telosma Cordata etc, etc.
basket 767 Plantsman Nursery relocated to France. Their catalogue is not as interesting as the old one, sadly.
Thanks SLHarner and basket 767.
