where - dahlia cuttings/tubers Bishop of Llandaff

| I'm thus only growing 4 dahlias this year (my gardens small), but I've just realised that 3 of them are failing - they may never have rooted well, or at all, in the first place! OK, I need some Bishop of Llandaffs asap - do any UK gardeners know of any 'chains' that have them? Tubers or cuttings. If the 'Leicester Contingent' (I know of 3 on these boards) know if a local nursery has them, please let me know as well. Thanks! |

| I saw some plants of this variety yesterday in Homebase. There is probably a branch locally to you. |

| I overwintered my Bishops in the garage and was disappointed when after planting out they looked as if they were failing until I looked closely and realised that as soon as a leaf popped through it was eaten by slug or a snail . Slug pellets have solved the problem although there are many other methods suggested in a previous message |

Is there any other pest that likes to feed on "the Bishop"? One of mine has been almost decimated by something, the leaves look like skeletons! but there are no tell-tale slimey trails around, and after using a lot of slug pellets, no corpses either. I was wondering about some sort of catapillar maybe? (although again, if they are there, I cant see them!) |
