Plants and Artistic Glass

These are my principal hobbies and now they are combined at Kew Gardens with an exhibition by Chihuly. I can hardly wait for my summer holidays! There are some marvellous photos on www.beccasbeads.co.uk/Gardensofglass.htm - done by Rebecca who makes lovely glass beads herself. Chihuly's sculptures seem to become part of the plants and the sybiosis looks complete. Would love to see pictures, read comments of those who have been luckier than I, and have already seen this exhibition.

RE: Plants and Artistic Glass

That looks completely amazing! The colours are fantastic. Thanks for letting everyone know about this.

There was an exhibition at Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Gardens a few years ago which featured glass sculptures by a Japanese artist, Keiko Mukaide, in among the plants in the glasshouses. She doesn't use coloured glass, but the organic shapes were so beautiful and perfect companions for the exotic plants.

Here's a link to her work: http://www.kuripa.co.jp/glass-art/cgi-bin/ag_personal.cgi?lang=en&id=121
