 o
Lebanese Mint

Recently, an Arabic-speaking accquaintance accompanied me to Edgware Road and I bought some mint (possibly Lebanese) in the Maroush deli. It smelled absolutely gorgeous and I got a huge bunch for 80-something pence.

On my kitchen windowsill, some of it has sprouted new teeny leaves and roots. I'd like to add it to my mint bed, but how ? Do I need to ensure the roots are a certain length ? Do I need to pot it on and if so which compost/soil is best ?

Any advice would be great thank you :)

RE: Lebanese Mint

Hello,
Chai be Nana, Tea with mint, lovely. Grow the mint in small pots 7-10 cm in general purpose compost, keep moist but NOT wet. Once the roots fill the pot pot on to a larger pot and then into your mint bed. If you wish to stop the mint spreading plant in a plastic bucket with the bottom cut out or use a tomato ring used for growing tomatoes in growbags.
I have some Moroccan mint (Mentha viridis) which I grow for tea.
