Paeony flower failure

| Please can you help. I've managed to cause my Paeony (is that how you spell it?) - normal red one with large blowsey flowers - not to flower. It had buds but they've not come to light and are now dried up and shrivelled. Is there smoething/things I have done?
Also my lovely tree Paeony (dark red/maroon flowers) has failed. I suspect that I pruned this too hard or too late (Autumn). But it was getting way overhanging and floppy etc. It is now looking very healthy; just no buds have appeared. Should I prune it now? Or just leave it alone?
many thanks

| Kester I would leave your tree Peony alone-maybe give it some liquid feeds of Tomato food to encourage it to produce flowering wood for next year. As for your normal peony sounds like it may have suffered from some form of Botrytis which they sometimes do. This can cause the flowers to fail. Spray with fungicide in spring as growth developes-dont forget to clean away all the old growth which could carry it. |

| Maybe it was too dry? They are very thirsty. |
