Hi
I have a Gunnera just getting to a decent size in my garden (Kent, UK) and have noticed the biggest and best leaf has had a few holes in it! I have plenty of slug pellets around and can't see it being them so is Gunnera prone to any other pests?

As a matter of interest, how much council tax would something like that cover? http://www.botany.hawaii.edu/faculty/carr/images/gun_pet.jpg |

Chopjuice I find that its snails that eat my gunnera. I pick them off and throw them to the thrushes, and once its got going the trouble passes. But that was when it was in a huge pot. Now that it is in the ground it might not be that easy. But it doesn't droop for lack of water anymore, which should help. Have you seen those huge gunnera on the road into Brighton? If mine got half that size..... Nik |
