Canadian gardener visiting Scotland

| My daughter, Grace, and Son, Graham, will be visiting Scotland, this August for three weeks.
Grace 34 and Graham 41
They are both keen gardeners, and Grace herself has traveled the world, seen many botanical and public gardens
They have plans made tentatively, and are looking more to northern Scotland this visit although are arriving in Edinburgh.
Could you suggest some gardens that they might like to see.
Public or private.
I will send along their email address if needed.

Hi Diane. I can't offer you any advice about Scottish gardens, but I would warn you that the UK forum of Gardenweb doesn't attract many contributors. I would suggest posting your question to the newsgroup: uk.rec.gardening. If you don't have newsreader software, you can access it via Google Groups:
http://groups.google.co.uk/group/uk.rec.gardening/ I'm pretty sure that several of the regular contributors to uk.rec.gardening are from Scotland and should be able to help. |

| Essential: RBG Edinburgh, and its satellite gardens at Dawyck and Benmore. Are there any particular types of plants (even particular species) they are particularly interested in seeing? Resin |

I visited Edinburgh this past July. The Botanical Gardens were beautiful. Even the non-gardeners in our group enjoyed strolling the paths and viewing plants we don't have in the U.S. We would never be able to grow those giant gunneras in Minnesota to say nothing of the Monkey Trees.
