New Gardener Help! - Oxeye Daisies.

I have 3 oxeye daisy plants which have flowered beautifully but they seem to have gone a bit out of control. The stems are around 3 feet tall and as there are many daisies in one plant they have flopped wherever they can. I have tried to tie one up by putting twine around the middle of the plant, like a belt which as tidied it up a little but I'm worried I am damaging the plant. How can I keep them under control? I only have a small front garden where they are situated and I don't want them taking over. Can anyone help me?

For the time being if you put in two or three short bamboo canes around each plant and tie twine to these and around the plants you will not harm them. Next year put in some support before the plants grow too tall. If you have access to twiggy prunings these are good pushed in around the plants, otherwise have a look online for plant supports. You can get all sorts!

absolutely agree with the above suggestions. the important thing is to put the supports in early so that the daisies grow into the supports, it looks more natural that way. Oxeye daisies are a faithful friend, hope you enjoy them.
