mushrooms in my garden

can any one tell me if a mushroom in my garden is poisonous as i have a small
toddler and he likes putting everything in his mouth and im worried he might grab one its about 2 cms high brown with the usual kind of top ie a hat with fins
underneath.

It's impossible to say what kind of fungus you have as the description is so vague. Could be honey fungus but then it might not. If you dont' know mushrooms you should remove all with brown hats and brown fins as there are quite a few poisonous ones among them, some that will condemn you to a kidney machine for the rest of your life, and few edible varieties. It's best also to remove all white kinds if you are not dead sure they are champignons, in particular all with white fins.

I think you should remove all fungi even though they may not be poisonous as they are unsightly, at least when they begin to rot.
