i have aquired some foxglove seeds and i know that they will not flower in the first year but is it worth sowing them now and overwintering them so i can get a head start?
also my parents have a forsythia that has been neglcted for many years and has become a leggy 10ft tree with no structure and i was wondering whether or not you could hard prune it or is it too late , if so how low should i go
thanx in advance |

I don't know if this is the right answer so wait for others, but I have cut back my forsythias at different times of the year and they have always come back so I don't think you would have to wait. I generally cut hard back to just a few inches (maybe 4-6 inches) The flowers only come on new growth so it will be good to get some going. Alison |

| Sow your foxglove seeds now, and you should have a good show next year. I sowed seed in boxes about a fortnight ago, and already have a mass of tiny seedlings that will have to be separated and potted up as soon as they are big enough to handle. Chris |
