Mature plant in flower.
As the forum is quiet at the moment I thought I would share with you one of my treasures cureently in flower. Question is, how many of you can put a name to it?
close-up of flowers.
This is the perfect plant for busy/lazy gardeners as the leaves drop off in anticipation of you forgetting to water it.
First person in with correct name gets a cutting. (Post to UK only). |

It looks like a Pelargonium species to me, but I haven't a clue which.

Quick guess..... Pelargonium echinartum Marigold

Changed my mind.....Pelargonium Hoarea Nova. Marigold

You have all guessed the Pelargonium bit correctly but I can hardly award any marks for that. I will keep you waiting a while longer to give those who work for a living the time to visit the forum. This Pelargonium is a native of S Africa and in its natural habitat has to endure extreme dry heat for the summer months followed by warm moist winters. To survive these conditions, the plant grows during the winter months then abandons the foliage for the summer, surviving as an arid succulent. Moriati

Thanks for your offer, Moriati - I've decided to earn my cutting properly after all (I expected someone to beat me to it before I had time to research): Pelargonium tetragonum!

Pelargonium tetragonum is the correct answer. Well done Anyanka.
