wandering feverfew

Hi
I'm just after a bit of info really. I have had feverfew growing in my raised border for the last few years. It arrived without warning and generally seemed to thrive. This year no feverfew in the border, but a large and healthy clump in a narrow area which houses my winter flowering jasmine.
Anybody any suggestions as to why it has suddenly relocated?
thanks

It may be that, as you've fed the raised bed over time, it's changed its moisture-holding capacity and shading. I get feverfew popping up in gravel and on borders with good sun to partial shade. It grows to either miserable heights with flowers - or whopping great bunches which then get very woody and fall over, leaving a crop of seedlings behind. Where the soil is 'juicy' the seedlings don't come to much, or rot away. And it seems to like having fresh fields to conquer. I don't know if it is one that builds a level of some chemical in the surrounds or not, though it is possible.

Whenever I plant feverfew, it dies. It seems to be a contrary plant that will only thrive where it has chosen to. Unfortunately my last attempt didn't live long enough to self-seed...

Feverfew doesn't live long but it seeds around. I find it typically grows for one season, then flowers for a couple, then dies. If not, I yank it because it gets huge and woody. Then a seedling will pop up somewhere and it gets another go :)

I'm rather fond of it and let it wander. I always appreciate a volunteer.
