Planting seeds

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to restore parts of my garden where the gras has simply "burnt out". I'm trying to avoud diggin up the garden and have taked the patches that will have new seed put down on them.

I'd like to get even more seed down on these parts as well as established parts. Is thee a tool/device for planting seed into the ground that avoids digging or raking?

This might seem like a stupid question, but I need to ask. :-)

RE: Planting seeds

You could mix the grass seeds with compost before sowing them. That way they have some growing medium without you having to dig/rake the soil below. By the time they've taken, they'll be strong enough to get into the soil.
