Global Artichoke Propagation

Hi,

Does any one know how to successfully propagate Global Artichokes?

I have 5 - 6 small 6" plants that have come from the base of this years plant (now chopped down to ground level as all flower heads have been eaten) but when I went to separate them from the main stem they didn't have any roots and seemed to be taking all their nourishment from the main steam so I don't know what to do.

The one that I broke away from the main stem is now jammed in a plant pot with damp soil in the vain hope it might take......

RE: Global Artichoke Propagation, Dad Says....

That you do it in the Spring when they have just started to sprot, you dig them up and devide the newly sproting stems, must have roots or part of roots to work
Hope that helps some
